Gateway Instance

In this document, you will learn the basic concept of gateway instance in API7 Enterprise Edition and how to use it.

Overview

A gateway instance is a single node or server of a data plane. Instances operate independently to enable horizontal scaling and load balancing. All instances use centralized configurations but do not share state.

Adding or removing gateway instances adjusts capacity of API7 Enterprise Edition. Monitoring each instance assesses system health.

Multiple gateway instances provide high availability and fault tolerance. Capacity scales elastically without restarting.
